The casino

River Cree runs one of the largest gaming floors in the Edmonton region — a broad, modern room with a full pit of table games, a dedicated poker room and a deep bank of slots that rarely feels short of a machine. The scale is the story: on a busy weekend it carries a real big-room energy without the crush of a downtown hall.

It is an Enoch Cree Nation operation, well-staffed and easy to read, with high-limit play tucked to one side and the attached venue often running a show to build the evening around. For an Alberta stay-and-play, this is the benchmark floor.

The rooms

The on-site Marriott holds around 250 contemporary rooms and suites, reached by a short indoor walk from the gaming — a genuine full-service hotel, not a wing bolted to a casino. Rooms are quiet, well-insulated from the floor and comfortable enough to make a weekend of.

Because everything sits under one roof, you park once and forget the car: the tables, the restaurants, the venue and bed are all a few minutes apart, which is exactly what you want after a late night.

Dining & extras

Dining runs across several restaurants and lounges, from a steak-and-grill room to casual counters, with the events centre and an NHL-size rink adding reasons to linger. There is more here than a quick meal between hands.

The concert-and-hockey calendar is the real differentiator — check it before you book, because the right night pairs a marquee act with the tables and turns an ordinary trip into an occasion.

Location & value

River Cree sits at Enoch on Edmonton's western edge, minutes from the city and an easy run to the airport route — close enough for a spur-of-the-moment night, far enough to feel like a resort.

Value is strong for the scale: parking is free and plentiful, the space never feels tight, and for a full Edmonton stay-and-play nothing else in the region matches the package.
